Each year St. Andrew’s welcomes boys and girls,
men and women into the Christian family through
the Sacrament of Baptism, a ritual of the church
dating back to Jesus’ own baptism. In the
United Church of Canada, baptism is celebrated
during a Sunday worship service, so that the
congregation may witness and welcome new members
into their midst and make a commitment to help
that person in his/her faith journey. Baptism
is the sole rite of initiation into the
Christian church and is prepared for
prayerfully, with instruction in the history and
meaning of the symbols used. Preparation for the
baptism of babies, children or adults can be
arranged through a conversation with the
minister.

At St. Andrew’s we have the privilege of
helping couples enter into the covenant of
marriage with one another.
Our marriage policy is
inclusive – couples of all gender combinations
are treated equally. Contact our
office for a
brochure designed to answer your questions
about celebrating your wedding at St.
Andrew’s. If you are considering a wedding
here, please call as soon as possible to
arrange a meeting with our minister.

The time around the loss of a loved one is both
special and fragile for all involved. The
people of St. Andrew’s want to help through
pastoral care and liturgy, as desired by the
family.
Our minister leads
funerals and memorial services, both in the
church and at funeral homes. She is available
to support the dying person and his/her family,
as this life draws to a close. She can help
the family plan a service to honour their loved
one’s life and to aid with their grieving
process. Call 745-2722 for assistance.
